What better way to enjoy a farmhouse holiday Florence than to mix culture with fresh air, nature and relax. Instead of staying in the busy city which is always noisy and crowded, head for the quiet countryside. Instead of having to find parking for your car rental, pay for expensive accommodations, wait for lifts to come or long queues in the restaurants, relax listening to the wind in the trees. You can drive into the city and visit different architectural sights, museums and churches and then escape back out at midday to your farmhouse lodging, have a home cooked food for lunch, take a relaxing nap and if you please, take in some night life before retiring to your bed of roses among roses. It does not matter what the weather is, each season has something special to offer you when you spend your holiday on a farmhouse in Florence.

What a Farmhouse Holiday Florence Really Is

I am sure many of you have been told by friends that a farm holidays stay means getting up at the crack of dawn to help feed the animals after having slept on uncomfortable beds. I am sure that something similar to this can be found, but when I stayed at some, everything was pleasurable and relaxing. You could either rent a room and have access to the kitchen or you could pay full pension and have the Italian owner cook up some of the most delicious Florence recipes. And even better, if you had seen enough of the Florence museums and wanted to expand your culinary knowledge, there are farmhouses where cooking courses are offered. I learned so much about Tuscany specialty dishes like ribollita ( a vegetable soup ) and real Tuscany bread. And when we were offered wine, we knew which Chianti to choose. And if you feel that your Italian is not up to par, then you can first do an Italian course in the city and stay in an apartment so that it is not too expensive.

And to top this, a visit to the Museum of Modern Art, specializing in Tuscany Art from the 18th to th 20th c. together with the Gallery of Costumes or Fancy Dress where haute couture fashion clothing is. But do not stop there, with a duo ticket, you can see the Boboli Gardens (16th c. ) and the Porcelain Museum to go on to the Museum of Silver to take in the silverware and tableware used back then. So much can fit into a farmhouse holiday Florence.
