Sleeping well in your Florence holiday accomodation does not have to be a difficult task. Florence is a well-prepared city and has grown consistently with the demand of the increasing influx of tourist every year. The majority of the people usually first go for an inexpensive hotel where there might be some kind of bargain included; such as a combination of hotel room with airports and plane tickets or maybe not travelling in summer with the hot weather and going in the off season. But hotels are not the only solution. There are very well-kept pensions, apartments for short term, campings, youth hostels, agrotourism near Florence and if we have been good savers, you could even stay a night or two at a castle or palace. Anything is possible with Florence holiday accomodations.

The Hotel Bellettini, where I stayed on one of my many visits, was very cozy and gave off a nice feeling with a nice view of the Basilica of San Lorenzo. there were rooms for one to three people and the price was reasonable. The Hotel Casci was similar in price but was found in a mansion from the 15th c. and the buffet breakfast with its expresso coffee was well welcomed every morning.

Summer Bargains

The Ferretti Pension, which is a little hidden in a quiet place, had a family atmosphere and was quite inexpensive. A single room with bath and breakfast was only 62 euros. On the other hand, Pensione Maria Luisa de Medici was another well decorated mansion from the 17th c with antiquities all around. Four or five people could easily stay in one room if you are travelling with a family. With bath and breakfast, a a triple cost about 115 euros.

In the Santa Croce area near the Archaeological Museum, some firends of mine stayed in the Pensione Losanna. Because of its very economical price ( double with bath 68 euros ) you should book ahead. Or near the central train station of Santa Maria Novelle, Ostello Santa Monaca is another choice for the younger generation.

And if you consider a half hour’s drive not too much, then heading north of Florence you will find villas and apartments near the famous Ferrari racetrack. You could even get a three day pass when there are races for about 115 euros by booking in advance. Nothing is too far fetched when thinking about Florence holiday accomodation.
